Nokhost / Alibaba Workplace

A strategic workplace framework that turns Alibaba’s headquarters into an adaptable campus for a growing travel ecosystem.

Project context & question

Alibaba needed a headquarters that could support growth and organizational change without becoming a fixed office layout. The workplace also had to express a travel company’s culture while connecting teams, visitors, and changing operational needs.

RootPlat intervention

RootPlat defined the workplace strategy before architectural design, clarifying experience goals, growth logic, user relationships, and the principles the architectural team needed to preserve.

Strategic approach

Experience, flexibility, and connection became the three strategic pillars. An adaptable shell-and-core logic, visual connections, and travel-related interfaces translated those pillars into design criteria.
